Branding + Design Services
Branding + Visual Identity Development
Branding is my deepest professional love. I may sound nerdy, but I absolutely adore the branding process and it brings me so much joy to lead my clients on a brand journey. I help nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, and small businesses build brands that actually work — not just logos that look good, but complete visual identities and usable systems that communicate who you are and connect with the people you're trying to reach.
My process starts with listening, and deeply understanding your organization: your mission, your audience, and what makes you different. From there, I design a logo that captures that identity, then build it out into a full brand system — color palette, typography, imagery style, and usage guidelines — so your brand stays consistent whether it's on your website, annual report, t-shirt, or conference banner. For established organizations refreshing their look, I can also evolve an existing identity while preserving the recognition you've already built.
The result is a flexible, cohesive visual identity your team can actually use — clear guidelines, adaptable assets, and a brand that grows with your organization.

Once your core brand identity is in place, it needs to show up everywhere your organization does — and that's where I come in. I offer full-service design support: if your organization needs it, I can likely design it. Inclusive Photography Collections
Photos—especially photos of people—are incredibly important for mission-driven brands. I specialize in helping organizations choose the right photos to represent their brands and help further their missions. I start by auditing your current photo usage, and develop recommendations on the types of images that should be used for your branded materials. I ask questions like “Who should be centered and why?” and “What types of people should be represented, and in what contexts?” Using stock photo websites of all kinds, I can help you build an image library that expands your visual brand, makes your organization more inclusive, and gives your audiences a sense of belonging—leaving them feeling like your brand was created with them in mind.
I can also build a detailed section of your brand guide that explains the photography style, guidance, and demographics specific to your organization to ensure the photos are used thoughtfully and correctly in all materials.
Inclusive & Accessible Brand Audits
If your brand already exists but you're not sure it's serving everyone it should, I offer brand audits with a specific focus on inclusivity and accessibility. I'll review your visual identity, imagery, and materials through that lens — looking at things like color contrast and legibility for people with visual impairments, whether your photography and illustration reflect the diversity of the communities you serve, and whether your design choices unintentionally exclude or alienate any audience. You'll come away with a clear, practical set of recommendations for making your brand more accessible and representative, whether that means small adjustments or a more substantial refresh.
1-on-1 Design Mentorship
Being a designer can be lonely and isolating—especially if you’re a team of one, either within your organization or as a freelancer/contractor. I’ve been there, and I get it. As a creative director, I offer regularly mentorship to other designers to support their work. This typically involves weekly, monthly, or ad hoc meetings to talk through specific projects. I offer support, feedback, insight, and help brainstorm solutions in a constructive way.
Whether you’re just starting out in your design career or are an experienced designer looking for someone to bounce ideas off of or expand your skillset, I’m your gal.
Inclusive Design Workshops
For teams looking to build their skills in inclusive design, I offer interactive workshops—both virtually and in-person (usually in the DC metro area).
Selecting Inclusive Images
In this hands-on workshop, your team will learn to spot bias and white supremacy in images, and then discover how to search for and select diverse and inclusive photos. This interactive workshop is designed for marketing teams and creative professionals—plus anyone who chooses photos as part of their role. Participants will learn why images are so critical to an organization’s mission and how to find inclusive images for their work.
Inclusive Design Education + Critiques
Looking for a higher level of engagement to develop inclusive design skills? I support internal design teams, and serve as a mentor and advisor to help creatives make their work more equitable and inclusive.
Typical engagements include a regular team session (usually once a month) that consist of an educational introduction or lesson on a particular topic paired with a critique of current projects. I provide feedback about how the team’s current work can be more inclusive and equitable, and the designers offer insight to each other on how projects can be improved. These rich discussions help designers think about their work through a more inclusive lens, and encourage them to be more thoughtful and intentional in their work. Following each session, I provide a list of resources on each topic we discussed for the team’s continued learning.
This model of providing ongoing consultation for teams ensures that the designers are continually growing and expanding their knowledge which, in turn, helps to make their work better for all of their audiences.
Team session topics include:
Inclusive photography and illustration
Multicultural or multilingual design
Designing inclusively for specific communities (people with specific disabilities, immigrants, LGBTQAI+ people, etc.)
Equitable interviewing & hiring practices for creative positions
