Toole’s garage
Toole's Garage is a family owned auto repair shop in San Carlos, California. Its owner, Dave, came to me by referral and wanted my help building a brand that they could have fun with, and that their customers could enjoy for years to come.
Creating the logo
Because Dave wanted a custom look for the brand, I specifically learned how to make chrome effects with text for this project. He wanted a flashy logo that would match the personality of the shop and hint at the shiny metal of the cars they work on. I created several flat logo concepts in black and white, then added layers of depth and effects to the final logo once it was chosen.
Developing the brand
Toole’s Garage needed a really versatile brand that could be used in lots of different applications—everything from shirts to signage to car decals to merch to invoices. The brand evolved into a fun staple of the community that has lasted well over a decade, and has helped their small business thrive.
