Mindful movement DC
Mindful Movement DC is small local DC business has grown so much over the last few years! Owner Rachel Morrison was leading personal training sessions in her apartment and instructing beautiful yoga classes virtually throughout the pandemic. She came to me in 2021 needing help building her visual brand and making it feel personal, authentic, fun, and inclusive. Since then, she has expanded into her own studio space in the Adams Morgan neighborhood, which is quickly becoming a community space for people in the area to build their strength and find their flow.
Creating the hand-drawn logo
Because Rachel wanted a very specific and physically accurate pose to be represented in the logo, I re-drew the illustration many times until it was exactly how she wanted it. We refined it several times before landing on the mark that became the final logo.

Building a website (And a studio!)
Rachel needed a quality website that would represent her growing business in a fun, inclusive, and professional way. The site has lots of branded touches that bring her color palette and the quality of the services she provides to life. The site also needed to provide an easy and seamless way for her members of her community to sign up for classes and sessions in her brand new Adams Morgan studio in DC.
I was the creative director and lead designer on the website design, which was designed in collaboration with Brevity & Wit.
inclusive photography
Rachel really wants Mindful Movement DC to be a place where everyone feels welcome and like it was made with them in mind. Together we carefully and thoughtfully chose photos of people to represent her brand. The photos you see throughout her website and materials are a mix of stock photos and photos of her real classes and students taken by Mike Fuentes (mikefuentesphotography.com).
“Acacia’s design work is impeccable. Her process is detailed, thorough, and honors the vision of the client in the most profound ways. Her intentional process of getting to know each client shows that she knows exactly what questions to ask in order to inspire the deep thinking that leads to powerful branding. I have worked with Acacia for years, from logo design and branding to web design, marketing materials, and storefront signage. I absolutely LOVE everything she has designed for me and she has always been incredibly responsive to feedback so that we arrive at a finished product we both feel good about. She seamlessly weaves her professionalism and expertise into a collaborative process that is fun and rewarding!”
